Belated Birthday Wishes, Gaffer!
Yes, we`re still going on about Saturday`s 7-1 win over Norwich. It`s just what manager, Paul Lambert, said he wanted for his Birthday... he must have made a wish!
Friday`s Colchester Gazette marked the Colchester manager`s Birthday with a rather cheesy but effective line about how all he wanted from the first game of the season - he got an emphatic one the next day!
Vital Colchester's match preview of the derby quoted him from that piece saying players who couldn`t get motivated to play in a game like that had "a problem."
Well, none of his squad did, actually. Just answers!
Yesterday, after confirming the compensation fee for defender, Magnus Okuonghae, with the Football League, the manger recapped on the weekend`s events, saying on that 7-1 win: "It is certainly something I could not have predicted."
Lambo reiterated earlier comments that the win was one of the best displays of football he had ever seen before adding: "Every time we attacked we seemed to score."
He went onto tip his former club, Celtic, to beat Arsenal in the recently drawn Champions League qualifier.
Who says wishes don't come true?
So what do you think?
