U`s Call Conference As Cowling Questions Conduct

Robbie Cowling`s statement in the wake of Paul Lambert`s shock departure this morning has questioned the conduct of Norwich City over his audacious appointment.

The U's owner and Chirman calls the whole affair "strange" a number of times and says Lambert told him on Monday that he "couldn`t concentrate" on the job in hand with United, once he knew of Norwich's interest.

Cowling also confirmed that Lambert`s assistant Ian Culverhouse and Football Operations Manager Gary Karsa have all taken up new roles with Norwich.

Colchester United have issued a further press-call in the last half-hour saying they will hold a live conference this afternoon before the media, starting at 1 pm.

I cant wait to see the compensation package agreed... They cant have a new candidate yet can they??? That's mean they were looking before PL jumped

I'm disgusted by Paul Lambert, and his coaching teams actions here, after spending money and making fundemental changes to the clubs structure he ups and leaves after 3 games......made worse by everyone uping and leaving so close to a game!!! Not only that but he must have been in talks with norwich before the phone call to RC from his norwich counterpart, therefore why did he allow jackson to leave.....this is compounded by hammond going where jonny would have been the perfect replacement. I am not naive enough to believe loyalty means anything to managers / players however his actions possibly the worst I have ever been made aware of.

They seem pretty bad - Jacko probably would still be here if he'd have known that at the same moment he was agreeing to leave the club, PL was doing the very same. What a day it has been - Lambert made some tough calls after the Geriant Williams era... and now it's onwards after just a few games into what should have been first first full season. Norwich will dump Lambert if he doesn't do well, just you wait and see.
