A jubliant Aidy Boothroyd looked ahead eagerly to Colchester United's future after his side 0-0 draw with Southampton.
In Boothroyd's first game in charge at the U's, a fantasticly united defensive display saw them head back North with a crdeitable point to their names. The result was made furtherly impressive following midifider Kem Izzet endured a sending off and Pat Baldwin was vicitm of injury.
'When the whistle went, I had this feeling that it was the start of something really good,' said the the 38-year-old, post-match.
'There are a lot of positives to take. We had to do an awful lot of defending in the second half and we rode our luck at times but it feels like a win.
And the former Watford boss hailed the attitude of his U's players. Boothroyd added: 'The attitude of our players was absolutely fantastic.'
