Vernon & Guy To Make Loan Exits

Kayode Odejayi's brilliant form for Colchester United, after signing on loan, looks likely to seal loan exits for two of the U's forwards.

Both Scott Vernon, who enjoyed a rich early-season goalscoring record, and youngster Jamie Guy, who is still struggling for fitness following injury, are set for temporary spells away.

Boss Aidy Boothroyd told The Daily Gazette: 'I think that they might need to get out on loan to get some games.

'We`ve almost got too many at the moment but that makes the competition even better,'
Boothroyd added, with U's having over six strikers to choose from.

Loanee Odejayi, along with experienced duo Clive Platt and
Kevin Lisbie, all top the pecking order, while record-signing Steven Gillespie is regaining full-fitness. French attacker Joel Thomas, who is also struggling to get a game, has been told he can make a permanent move away from North Essex.

U's followers, along with Boothryod, will be hoping that both Vernon and Guy can return bang in form!

And Boothroyd made the comparison to full-back John White, who following a loan spell away, is now at the top of his game.

'Look at John White - before he went to Southend he was surplus but he came back match fit and he hasn`t come out of the team,' he concluded.

I thought Port Vale were interested in Jamie Guy--any news on this? Very pleased for John White-- he appears to be a model professional keeping a low profile and quietly getting on with his job.

Well, his injury scuppered the move I believe. Shows the strength of our squad if a striker who has netted three goals can be loaned out!
