Fox: 'Thoughtful' Aidy Knows My Feelings!

Playmaker David Fox has revealed that boss Aidy Boothroyd is wary of his player's feelings.

Colchester United man Fox has featured scarcely since Boothroyd took the reigns, but is hopeful more pitch time is on the horizon. Despite starting the season in blistering form, with two goals in two games, from the centre-of-midfield, Fox lost his place to the emergency loan system.

Within minutes of Boothroyd being confirmed as the U's new boss, the arrival of John-Joe O'Toole was announced, following by fellow loanee Josh Payne a month or so later.

'Aidy is very thoughtful about how his players are feeling. He asks me how I feel and he knows he has got a frustrated player on his hands. He's played the game so he knows what it's like,' Fox told the EADT.

However, Fox was handed the chance to shine last weekend, in the FA Cup, against non-league Bromley - chipping in with two assists in a 4-0 romp.

Speaking about the win, Fox, 25, added: 'I was delighted with the two assists. I had to play a different role in the team because John-Joe likes to get forward, but I'm no stranger to playing that deeper position and would be happy to play there.'

Shame he is admitting that he might be a defensive midfielder from now on.

I really rate fox in the attacking midfield area. He has kept scoring goal in the reserve games and played brillantly at bromley. I just wish Aidy would give him a chance instead of JJ and see if he can deliver the goods

Yeah, I like Fox, good passer, however, he does get knocked off the ball too easily for my liking. Think he should get a chance against Exeter on Saturday.
