New Contract For Okuonghae - Inside Six Months!

Unconfirmed Premiership interest in former Fulham youth-teamer Magnus Okuonghae prompted Colchester to award him a new contract, less than six months into his U`s career.

Okuonghae`s impressive form has already endeared him to fans, who know him as 'The Beast'. Equally, his importance to the team this season is underlined by the recent temporary exit of a usually indispensible Pat Baldwin.

Joining in the summer from Dagenham, Okuonghae was a cheaper and arguably more skilful alternative to previous target, Neal Trotman.

Sky`s report yesterday that 23-year-old Okuonghae had signed a year extension anticipates at this time of year an alleged interest from bigger sides in the transfer market.
