U's Vs Carlisle - GAME OFF

Colchester United game with Carlisle United, scheduled for Saturday afternoon, has fallen victim to the weather.

Heavy snow has swamped parts of England - with Essex one of the worst effected counties - and around four inches of thick snow currently blanktet the pitch.

An aftertnoon pitch inspection at the Weston Homes Community Stadium saw the match postponed with over 24 hours left to kick off. Seeing the vast distance the visting Cumbrians have to travel, this is likely to have paid a big hand in the decision to call it off at such an early stage.

No date has yet been set for the re-eranged fixture, altough a cold Tuesday night date looks likely.
