'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fans: £250k - £500k For Lis - But What About U's?

Vital Colchester's most recent poll has revealed that 49% of voters would be prepared for the U's to part with a figure of up to £500,000 to secure the permanent future of loan star Kevin Lisbie.

We asked YOU...:- How Much Would You Pay To Sign Kevin Lisbie Permanently?

...And YOU answered as follows:-

Nothing, there's better players out there! - 24%

000,000-£250,000 - 10%

250,000-£500,000 - 49%

500,000-£750,000 - 6%

Anything - We Must Break The Bank! - 11%

However, as we all know, its all down to what Colchester United - and Robbie Cowling and Aidy Boothroyd in particular - feel is a suitable fee.

U's man Boothroyd has made no secret of desire to keep Lisbie, a player who has reached double figures for the season so far, at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

He explained: 'Kevin has been absolutely fantastic for us.

'I don`t think we can afford the fee they are asking or the wages Championship clubs can afford,'
Boothroyd continued.

But Boothroyd has reassured fans that not all hope of extending the 31-year-old's stay is lost.

He added: 'But we may be able to come up with something at the end of January.'

One thing that is for sure is that an interesting four weeks awaits...
