Joe`s Reward For A Job Well Dunne!

The ever-popular coach Joe Dunne was rewarded this week for more than a decade`s loyal service with Colchester, through a presentation made to him before the Southampton game.

Dunne has truly severed the club with distinction over ten years straight service as player and coach; he enjoyed a richly deserved chorus of his name, sung in tribute prior to kick-off during Monday`s League One tie.

Technically, however, he has an even longer affiliation with the club, having signed twice in total for United during his professional career.

The affable Irishman also stepped into the hot-seat earlier this season amid Paul Lambert`s tumultuous departure and has since returned to a less senior role, although manager Aidy Boothroyd has many times commented how useful he is as an aide.

Dunne`s good relationship with youth-team palyers Medy Elito and Anthony Wordsworth no doubt influenced Boothroyd notable selection of them since his arrival.
