When We Beat The Norwich, This Is What We`ll Sing

...Robbie Cowling, Robbie Cowling, Robbie is our king!

Club sellout for crunch City game: Are YOU ready...?

Colchester United chairman and owner Robbie Cowling has been vindicated by his recent decision to limit Norwich City`s ticket allocation for the return game this month at Weston Homes.

As of this morning there were officially around just twenty tickets left for the crunch game, set against an appetising background of local rivalry, a currently close league position and of course the small matter of Paul Lambert`s return following the season`s switch and that 7-1 match.

Cowling has said today thanked fans for backing his judgment by supporting the club`s cause as the history books prepare to record a biggest-ever crowd at the U`s relatively new stadium on the 16th.

The comments add to the earlier statement of intent; Cowling has already said he has "never wanted to win a game of football so badly" as United`s next home tie.

Even after the game, dealings between the East Anglian clubs will not cease for the season, with a Football League disciplinary committee due to meet and dole out City`s punishment, finical or otherwise, for inducing former boss Lambert to break his Colchester contract as manager.

Great stuff, all available tickets have now gone i believe. Just gotta sell the ones we get back from the Norwich scum who have purchased them.

I'd be careful. That last sentence is defamatory. It's an allegation against Lambert, Norwich and co - not a fact.

Lambert was "induced" to break his contact by Norwich City according to the original statement by Robbie Cowling. That's what he believes although you're right, I did not make that clear in this article.
Matt_Us
Robbie Cowling, besides behaving like a spoilt brat, could be in for it with the FA himself. His behaviour is likely to lead to trouble breaking out between supporters.

Robbie Cowling - a spoilt brat? The man wants to be compensated for Norwich unjustly inducing Lambert to brake his contract. Whats the problem?
StevieG Col U
Seems fair to me!
Matt_Us
Cowling or Colchester United are under NO OBLIGATION to release more tickets to Norwich beyond the standard number set for away teams, they are all now sold out so there isn't anything anyone can possibly do or criticise him or the club!!! As for behaving like a 'spoilt brat' I can't see how ANYONE could come to this assumption, he has merely stated his desire to win a football match, fill his clubs ground with the maximum number of its supporters possible to support their team along with making a statement regarding his dissappointment at how a rival club has behaved in its pursual and appointment of their manager. Did anyone state Man U were behaving like spoilt brats when they reported Madrid to Uefa over the continued attempt to induce Ronaldo ??? No they didn't !!
ooohhJohnnieJackson
Its stupid, Norwich seem to think have some 'divine' right to be given extra tickets. Like OJJ says we're under no obligation to do that! Up the U's!

As a Norwich fan, I take my hat off to Cowling. He openly admitted that he'd rather risk losing money than have the ground overfilled with Norwich fans for what he considers to be a massive grudge match. He's stuck to his principles, and it's paid off for him with your fans deciding you actually all want to watch this one. Hopefully, this will be the start of consistent higher attendances for you, a little-mentioned possible side effect of all this. And StevieG, I love the way you've quite openly repeated what was acknowledged as a potentially defamatory accusation just two messages on. There's no doubting it, this game's gonna be awesome! COI: Found out yesterday I've got my ticket, see you on the 16th! PS: It may interest you that apparently, Lambert is a surprise tip for the Burnley job. I thought from day one he'd do to us exactly what he did to you; be fun if he's gone by the time we play you, wouldn't it?

Saturday Skin - thanks, good comment. And YES I cant wait for the 16th! Have seen the Lambert stuff - an article will be up soon!
StevieG Col U
I think Lambert ultimately wants the Celtic job. They are struggling slightly at the moment but if/when Mowbray does leave them I think Norwich fans will undoubtedly feel how Colchester fans do now.
ooohhJohnnieJackson
Yeah - he's said that that is his dream job before. Although I personally think he will go somewhere else first! Up the U's!
StevieG Col U
Somewhere else first- like Burnley?? :P
Matt_Us
On current form, Mowbray's gonna have six months, maybe a year tops. So I'm already fairly resigned to us being managerless in about a year. My worry is that he might want to go somewhere a bit higher profile to get himself heard of a bit more. Like, as you say, Burnley...
Saturday skin
i think we should sing 'WHERE'S YA MONEY GONE'
