Keen Aidy Calls For Hasty Yeovil Date Decision

With the weekend`s away match against Yeovil Town called off after a pitch inspection yesterday lunchtime, the ever-keen U`s manager, Aidy Boothroyd, pressed for a new date - and quickly!

He told the Colchester Gazette inside the past 24 hours that next Tuesday would be ideal for the Essex side to face-off at Hush Park as he looks to get the XI playing again, presumably anxious to erase any lingering effects of the recent freak F.A. Cup clobbering by Preston North End.

A chirpy Boorthroyd said: "The plan is to play the Yeovil game on the Tuesday if we can. But my wants and my needs don`t hold much within the Dorset constabulary, which I think it is there, so we will have to see what happens. We want to get the game on as soon as possible."

The U`s must also find time in an ever-crowded fixture list to play other re-arranged matches against MK Dons (H, January 26) and Carlisle United (A, February 2).

Yeah, can understand him wanting to get the FA Cup defeat out of the players minds, along with make JJ O'Toole available for the big one! By the way Aidy - Yeovil is in Somerset not Dorset!
