Magnanimous Vincent Promises Va Va Voom!

Was spending four months-plus injured in the process of scoring for Colchester truly worth it? Ashley Vincent says yes, so for that alone deserves some serious credit.

For all those new to the story, please don`t laugh - Vincent really did hurt himself scoring and plenty at the Swindon game will vouch for that very fact. And ever since, he`s been through hell and high-water trying to get back out on the field.

The winger`s troublesome ankle is now being referred to a specialist with a view to getting him off the treadmill and back into some mortal, sorry ball, contact according to a report in yesterday`s Evening Gazette.

Vincent, sounding very magnanimous, "The dream scenario for me would be to be back in a winning team again by next month and help us finish in the top-two. Even with the injury I`ve had, that would be the perfect year.

From my point of view, I played my part in that Swindon game. I scored our goal and if that helps us in the long term, then that`s good."

Such a selfless assessment sure is refreshing but he really should get that modesty problem checked out... has our number seven been spending that bit too much time alone lately...?

Look forward to seeing those slalom runs again soon, Ashley!

Didn't expect him to be out that long when he went down; in fact, amid the goal didn't really see what happened... fair play for his attitude while out though and also to Phil Ifil for stepping up to the plate. No Vincent will have Hendo to contend with - some to leave soon??!

Yeah, only looked like a minor knock but is great to see him nearing fitness. Think he gives us something different down the right, very direct, very pacey, and knows where the goal is! Well, Matt, people have got to want to buy them too.... This aint Football Manage! lol

Oh, but I was so convinced it was a sort of second reality: you've spoilt everything now!
