Views On Boothroyd`s Latest Blue-Chip Boy

Ian Henderson is a Colchester United player, hired by Aidy Boorthroyd after previous stints in England with Norwich, Northampton and Luton. So what do the new man and his manager have to say about it?

The boss seems happy to have snared a hard-worker. He explained last week to the Colchester Gazette: "I`m hoping that we can give him the springboard to kick on. He lost his way a little bit and went to play in Turkey which can happen very often with British players going over to foreign climes, speaking a different language with different rules."

The pair worked together as part of the Norwich youth team in the 1990s and Henderson, who was publically revealed as a U`s trainee eight days ago during the warm-up away at Preston, operates in several poisons; attack, all across midfield, including as a support striker.

Speaking to the U`s official website, he explained he was offered a deal having initially just asked to join up with the squad to keep fit until the current transfer window kicked in.

"It`s been a couple of weeks in the making and I`m really excited with the international clearance going through. I`m really, really happy to be signing for Colchester. I`ve been training and getting to know the boys."

Henderson added that he wants to "push on and get promoted " with the club from leave one, after hopefully first breaking into the side.
