With a possible 24 points still available this season, loyal first-team coach Joe Dunne wants everyone at Colchester United to simply keep calm and carry on.
'People forget that, within our group at the moment we have people who have never been in this situation before,' Dunne told the latest Daily Gazette today. It seems a very professional riposte in response to disquiet from some quarters amid the squad`s currently poor run of results.
The side cling to sixth place, having accrued a solitary three points from a possible eighteen over the last six games, but those in the camp are refusing to admit premature defeat. "We have not to panic," Dunne explained.
With key games against fellow upward-looking sides, Charlton, Millwall, Huddersfield and Swindon all to come, Colchester face a crunch period, one which will determine if they convert their permanent presence in the League One top-six into anything more concrete.
'We`re working extremely hard to get into the play-offs and into the Championship again,' Dunne assured.
Patience, people, patience!
