All Going On A Summer Holiday... Except Reid!

Paul Reid`s triumphant return to first-team action at Tranmere after several set-backs has been followed by centre-backs surprise admission that his season will not end in May.

The hard-knock former Barnsley man vowed in Monday`s East Anglian Daily Times to continue regaining his fitness, complemented he hopes by possible action in the two remaining league games against Huddersfield and Leyton Orient.

He has now made 12 appearances for the season, having missed two chunks of the campaign with various injuries and played last weekend for the first time since January`s game against Gillingham.

Reid reflected on his appearance as a relief, explaining hold he`s usually an action-man type player, used to parking in 40 or more games a season. He also played out a very positive interview in general, saying his conviction of Colchester as a Championship club in-waiting was not impacted by recent results.

He said:"It`s been massively frustrating for me. I`ve felt helpless. I wanted to be out there on the pith helping rather than in the dressing-room."

He added: "Now I want to pay back the fans. There will be no summer break for me. I`ll be working nine 'till five to be the fittest I can for next season."

Best defender we have at CUFC, would this season have turned out different with him a reguglar - maybe? Lets hope next season's better for him.
