U`s Taking A Batth After Recall?

Danny Batth`s Colchester United career is not over, despite his surprise recall my parent club Wolverhampton Wonders.

The 19-year-old defender has returned to the Premiership`s dizzy heights according to Wolves` official site, for a review of his progress with the Essex club while on loan.

He cannot now therefore take park in either of the final United fixtures this season against Huddersfield or Leyton Orient.

According to a follow-up report in the local Daily Gazette, youngster Batth is on the return radar at Colchester because manager Aidy Boothroyd wants to re-sign him for another term as competition for current first-choice paring, Paul Reid and skipper Magnus Okuonghae.

Colchester also have Matt Heath and Frenchman Franck Queudrue as cover on thier books, the latter borrowed from top-flight Birmingham City.

He might be alright next season now he has some experience. A little naive and unlikely premiership quality in my opinion but should develop into a good player. Nice flattering picture of him too!

Yeah to be honest this picture puts about a decade on him! Think he's going for the ball in a header... as others say, feels like he's played a lot more than 18 times this season. Hope you're right about the lad improving with experience next term... one great season with the U's and who knows... only 19 so a bit early to say he won't make it in the Prem one day, perhaps!
