Elito Looks Set For U's Stay

Medy Elito looks set to stay with Colchester United, for the time being at least.

The young, pacy winger spent a fruitful loan spell with League Two side Cheltenham Town towards the back end of last season. However, Elito had shown a desire to win a regular starting place and stay in North Essex.

Town boss Mark Yates said: 'I have spoken to Medy`s agent as well as John Ward at Colchester and he loved his time with us.'

The 20-year-old scored three goals in eleven appearances for the Robins and will hope to make a good impression when a new manager is chosen and in place.

'His efforts were much appreciated, but he has a year left at Colchester and he wants to play for his parent club now, so I`d say it`s a long way off for us to bring him back here at the moment,' he added.

Probably needs to develop some more, but has shown he can do it at the lower level.

Yep, I think if we get playing some good football next year then there's no reason why Elito cant step up and be a key player..!
