Contracts Renewals Iced: Prutton On Brighton Radar

David Prutton`s next club could be Brighton after chi Robbie Cowling declared all contract offers suspended following Aidy Boothroyd`s Coventry denature.

The former Leeds United and Southampton midfielder was a mainstay in the U`s side under Boothroyd but has since attracted the attention of Albion`s Gus Poyet and could leave Essex when his short-term deal expires.

Cowling said the terms offered to Prutton and defender Phil Ifill were "on ice" with the managerial post currently a situation vacant at for the second time inside a year at Weston Homes Community Stadium.

"He is a player I like a lot and, depending on what is happening with the midfielders, we will see," commented Poyet recently.

Prutton has scored three times in 28 matches for the U's.

Well, we'll just have to wait until the new man comes in - will Prutton still be here then?! I'm not sure, wouldn't be overlly fussed if he wasn't...!
