League One No Easy Ride Next Season - Ward

John Ward has cuffed away any suggestion that League One will be any easier to challenge for without Norwich, Leeds or Millwall following the trio`s recently confirmed promotion.

"Those three have gone out but then there`s people like Swindon and Huddersfield Town who finished in the top-six above us," Ward told the official site yesterday as he was confirmed Aidy Boothroyd`s successor.

"There`s Southampton, who are going to be exceptionally strong next year. Sheffield Wednesday, Plymouth and Peterborough, who I think strangely enough will be the strongest of the three coming down," added Ward.

He will need to harness both his own personal experiences of three previous promotions at this level with Bristol City, York City and Cheltenham Town as well as uniting most of the squad who had looked like nailed-on top-six material last term until they stumbled during the last quarter.

"There`s no easy rides in any league and I think this League One has been a really touch league for years now and I don`t see it any different next year", a sensible Ward concluded.

Will certainly be tough, but not quite as tough as last year IMO!
