'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Lambert`s Favourite Son Fox Joins Him At City

David Fox has stepped out of Colchester United`s squad rotation system in favour of a chance to challenge for first-team football with Norwich.

The talented 26-year-old is a former Manchester United trainee had merited comparisons with Old Trafford legend Paul Scholes from former U`s manager, Paul Lambert, who signs the player for a second time in his career and is an open admirer.

Fox was snapped up for free when he first signed for Lambert last year from Blackpool and their boss Ian Holloway has since aired misgivings about releasing the midfielder, known as a ball-player with the potential to hit good free-kicks.

Despite a great start to his Colchester spell in the opening month of the season, during which he ironically scored a stunning set-piece against his new club, Fox fell out of favour with Lambert`s replacement, Aidy Boothroyd.

Chairman and owner Robbie Cowling said the deal represented the best situation for all parties, but given the current enmity between the U`s and City and Fox`s undoubted ability, fans have watched him go with a slightly heavy heart.

Lambert will know him and has no qualms about taking one of your better players.

Not really sure he's one of our better players - not fussed to see him go really, helps trim the squad...!

I liked Fox I think he is a quality player, would of rather seen him stay and Prutton go, not impressed with Prutton at all, hoping O'Toole gets back in
colu_chip
Agree, Chip! O'Toole has the potential and for the time being is our player without Aidy as his manager!
