Fixture Frenzy: U`s In League & Cup Double Draw!

This week saw the incoming 2010/11 campaign take shape as the edgily-anticipated fixtures finally hit the printing presses.

A long-halt trip is first up in August for the side - they face Exeter City in a typically-drawn away fixtures which will also seen John Ward in charge for the his first competitive game as manager since succeeding Coventry City boss, Aidy Boothroyd.

Meanwhile, the League Cup`s opening-round game is another away trip and an action-replay of sorts for the U`s since they drew Hereford, a side they only narrowly beat in the Football League`s sister completion, the F.A. Cup, last term thanks to a dramatic last winner.

That game is eight weeks away - August 10 - and Colchester will be hoping to progress at the first hurdle this time around, unlike last season when they fell away to Leyton Orient`s 2-1 reverse at home.

See the side's official site for a more detailed rundown of the games for next term.
