Roy O'Donavan Joins Aidy At City

Coventry City have completed the signing of former Sunderland striker, Roy O'Donavan, who was also interesting Colchester United and Hartlepool.

The 24-year-old joins former U`s manager Aidy Boothroyd at City on a free, which now means the Essex side must turn their attention to new targets.

The club however now appear to be sticking to their current crop of players, meaning the striking births next season look sure to be contested by first-teamers Clive Plat, Steve Gillespie and Kayode Odejayi.

There has been no word from Ipswich on the possibility of Kevin Lisbie re-joining the club for what would be a third time and equally no apparent need to replace Scott Vernon.

Joel Thomas, the striker with apparent pedigree after previous with Bordeaux and Kaiserslautern, can expect a first-team run if no other signings are forcoming.

O'Donavan was one of Colchester`s few known possible recruits and also spent a month on loan at Colchester`s rivals Southend last season.
