Utility Man Wilson Drafted In
John Ward`s other signing of the summer is the former Stoke and Bristol man Brian Wilson, who joins as competition for either the right back or right midfield.
Wilson joins having been fairly regularly for Bristol during their Championship campaigns and as a player who had previous featured under Ward while he managed Cheltenham.
'He has played 60-odd games in the Championship and, although he has been unlucky with injuries, they've cleared up now and we've got a good player,' Ward told BBC Radio Essex.
Wilson`s arrival meant Phil Ifil, the former Tottenham player capable of operating in identical positions, was not offered a new deal with the Essex side.
