Williams Ready To Rock And Roll With Roy?
A man with strong Ipswich and Colchester connections, Geraint Williams, is reportedly seen as an ideal candidate to assist Roy Keane at Portman Road next season.
The amiable Welshman has been out of work since his sacking at Leyton Orient last term but Keane will remember that he was manager of the Colchester side infamous for beating Sunderland 3-1 during the 2006-7 season at Layer Road. It was a result that shocked and stood out, not least because it put their eventual promotion on ice.
Williams` previous experience, tallied with a report from the EADT that the Ipswich-based man has been seen working at the club`s training ground recently, see him linked to the position.
He was a number two at Colchester before becoming Phil Parkinson`s successor with the U`s. He served as manager for twenty six months.
