Transfer News: Championship Left-Back Signs On

Colchester United today announced the loan capture of Bristol City man Tom Williams.

The former Peterborough United defender provides cover for the injured Marc Tierney and joins for an initial month.

Williams, 30, has featured for a number of clubs throughout the Football League and boosts the U's squad ahead of Saturday's clash with Milton Keynes Dons.

'He is an experienced player with over 300 games under his belt and it is important to keep the balance with a left footer on the left side of defence,' U's boss John Ward, speaking to the official website, said.

Vital Colchester would like to welcome Tom and wish him the best of luck in his time here.
