U's knocked-back in loan efforts
John Ward has made no secret of the fact that he is trying to bring in a new striker, although to date this has proven a fruitless exercise for him.
The Colchester manager, as he told BBC Essex, has confirmed that he has made moves for a few players but none have come off.
One loan signing, of a striker, was apparently agreed until the club he was coming from changed their mind: 'I'm trying to get a couple in that would help the team and supplement it.
'One club's just changed its mind and they're entitled to do whatever they want. I'm still having a go, if we can't do it, we'll go with what we've got.'
In a philosophical way of looking at things he has said 'that's life' in his fruitless pursuit thus far...
