Vincent out for 6-weeks
The full extend of Ashley Vincent's injury is now known.
Colchester physio Tony Flynn, as he told the official website, has confirmed a ligament strain in his knee.
This is a drawback, and a blow for everyone, although it is not as serious as first thought so that is a bonus: 'Ashley has suffered a lateral ligament strain in his knee and an associated calf muscle sprain.
'It's disappointing for Ashley and the manager that he will be missing for that long but a relief that it wasn't more serious.'
It was feared the 26-year-old had ruptured a cruciate, something he has done before, so the fact that he has not is a relief to all: 'Ashley has suffered a cruciate tear before and knows the recovery process is a long, hard one so he's relatively pleased with the news.'
6-weeks out is a blow but it is most definitely better than it could have been!
