Colchester could not make the most of home advantage, and despite going ahead had to settle for a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
Wordsworth (43) gave The U's the lead on the stroke of half time and they looked good for a narrow win...
That was until Smith (90+1) secured Orient a 1-1 draw with an injury-time leveller.
