Ward - we got overpowered

John Ward conceded that the better side won at the weekend with Colchester slipping to defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.

The U's manager admits that Colchester were 'beaten by a better team' who also 'overpowered' them: 'they're a very powerful team, a very strong team. We had a lot of the possession in the first half without really worrying their goalkeeper too much, but that's fine when you come to a club like this.

'We got overpowered after 15 minutes of the second period. Too many set plays were given away and they come up with the artillery and they're a very strong team.

'When they get ahead that lifts the crowd, that lifts their team and for the final 30 minutes we've been overpowered by a very good side that play to very good strengths that they've got.

'We've been beaten by a better team and I think you've got to come and say that.'
