Izzet - its very harsh
Kemal Izzet has said that the criticism of Colchester's 5-1 defeat against MK Dons last weekend was 'very harsh'.
The U's captain, as he told The Gazette, believes that Colchester competed with The Dons for large section of that game.
Whilst he concedes people, and rightly so, are entitled to their opinion it does not mean that he thinks some of it has been fair: 'I try not to listen to any negativity going around.
'People are entitled to their opinions and I'm sure the gaffer is big enough to take anything that comes his way.
'It's easy to jump on the band wagon and criticise after a negative result. But from my own point of view, it's very harsh.
'We performed pretty well, especially for the first 30 to 35 minutes, and it was never a 5-1 score. We struggled a bit after they got their equaliser but to win like they did totally flattered them.'
The best way for Izzet, John Ward and all concerned to answer the critics is by responding positively this weekend, but will The U's manage this?
