No knocking on my door!
John Ward, as he told The East Anglian Times, has warned his players NOT to come knocking on his door if they are dropped for the meeting with Exeter today.
He feels it should be quite the opposite in fact, if players are retained they should thank him and give their all to make up in some way for Boxing Day's 6-1 home mauling against Stevenage: 'I don't think anyone should be knocking on my door, if they're not in the starting line-up for this weekend, especially if they played on Monday.
'If they are in, maybe they should knock on my door and say that 'I am lucky and will do my best.
'I want that sort of reaction from them, to be grateful for having another chance.'
The U's suffered a 5-1 home defeat against MK Dons last month and recovered well and he wants the same reaction: 'we have been here before, when we had the doom and gloom of Swindon and MK Dons, and everyone was wondering what would happen next.
'We came back with two really good performances after that. The point is we can do that.'
