No U's return
John Ward, as he told The East Anglian Times, had admitted defeat in his bid to bring Michail Antonio back to Colchester on loan again.
Since his return to Reading in November the winger has been on the fringes of the first team and as such The Royals are not keen on him moving on again: 'I have spoken to Reading manager Brian McDermott about Antonio's position.
'But it doesn't look like Antonio will be coming back to us. That's not going to happen, which is fine.
'Antonio has been in and around Reading's first team over the last few weeks. He's been on their bench, and they rate him very highly.'
It is not just the 21-year-old where movement for The U's has stalled...
Ward has seen no developments for any other players, be that coming to Colchester or leaving: 'in fact, there have been no developments on any ins or outs this month.'
