Result - Colchester 1-2 Chesterfield
Colchester slumped to a disappointing home defeat to struggling Chesterfield on Saturday.
Veteran Lester (6) gave Chesterfield and early lead but just after the half hour Gillespie (32) brought Colchester level. Just before the half time break the visitors were ahead again when Thompson (44) struck.
No further goals came in the second half so Chesterfield came away with a 2-1 win.
