Baldwin joins Southend

Pat Baldwin has left Colchester to sign for league two outfit Southend.

29-year-old Baldwin has been allowed to leave The U's on a free transfer and has signed a contract with the promotion chasing Shrimpers until the end of the season.

His departure, which comes after limited first-team opportunities this term, brings an end to a 9--year stay with Colchester, where he made 242 appearances after signing from Chelsea.
