Finally close to a return

Ashley Vincent is nearerly, very nearly; ready to make his Colchester return following injury.

Having got close to a return recently before a setback left him out for longer John Ward, as he told the official website, believes that he is almost at 'square ten'.

That means he is closing in on his return having returned to training: 'we've got Matt Heath and Ashley Vincent back in training and on Friday we had 21 outfield players training.

'The games are coming thick and fast, so we have to be ready for that and it's great we've got the two lads back with us.

'Ashley has been back working with the group and doing all of the same work as the rest of the squad.

'We got him to this stage last time but had a set back that put him back to square one, but we're at what I guess you'd call square nine now and nearly to square ten!'

It's possible that Vincent could be in the squad that takes on Brentford on Tuesday night.
