Lightweight defending cost us the points

John Ward thought that Colchester were really good in their first half showing against Yeovil but the 'dull' second 45-minutes is what cost them defeat at Huish Park.

Having scored twice The U's manager feels that you would normally expect something away from home but 'lightweight defending' is what cost Colchester in the 3-2 defeat: 'as slick as we were in the first half we were as dull in the second.

'In the period between Yeovil's first and third goals we were really dull but then gradually found areas where we could get back into the game.

'Lightweight defending cost us the points. If you come away and score two goals you expect to take something back on the bus.'
