Ladapo signs professional for Colchester

Colchester have handed Freddie Ladapo his first professional contract.

The teenager has signed a deal until the end of next season with John Ward, as he told the official website, backing the striker to have a 'bright future' with The U's: 'he's quick, bright, strong and has pace. He has got that greedy instinct of a striker and you don't want to knock that out of him.

'He is at the very early stages of his development but he could have a bright future.'

Ladapo couldn't really have celebrated this any better than he did on Wednesday night, he scored a double in a reserve win over West Ham.
