Result: Exeter 1-1 Colchester
Any lingering hopes that Colchester could still force a play-off spot were ended once and for all with a draw at Exeter on Saturday afternoon.
Veteran midfielder Karl Duguid (6), who recently agreed a new deal for next season, got Colchester off to a fine start, and this was taken into the half time break.
Exeter, battling to avoid relegation, looked set for defeat but a veteran of their own Jamie Cureton (83) scored what could be a valuable goal to give them a 1-1 draw.
