Halford Hands in Transfer Request

Colchester United utility player Greg Halford has handed in a request for a transfer, however U's Boss Geriant Williams stressed that he is keen to keep Greg at the Club.

Williams said,'Yes it`s true that Greg has handed in a transfer request to the club, but we are not looking for him to leave at this time'

'While a part of me understands why he has taken this step, there is a valuation for Greg, as there is with all players, which will have to be met before we even consider looking at the situation'

He continued, 'We have made no secret of the fact that we are doing all we can to bring players in, so shipping them out is the last thing on my mind'

Colchester Chief Executive Marie Partner added, 'Although Greg has handed in an official transfer request, the club has received no offers that are near to what we feel is his true valuation and we would like to keep him at the club.'

Halford is expectd be in the squad to face MK Dons tonight at the National Hockey Stadium.
