Player of the year keen to stay with U's
Anthony Wordsworth's reward for a successful season with Colchester has seen him named the player of the year.
23-year-old Wordsworth has been linked with other clubs but, as he told The East Anglian Times, he is happy where he is: 'I've got another year at Colchester. It's up to the gaffer, and I don't see why I won't be here for another year.
'I feel like I'm getting better and better as a player, and I've managed to get a bit of consistency this season.
'I've got used to playing in central midfield, and feel comfortable there. My fitness levels have also improved.'
When a player enters the final year of their contract it is always a tough decision as to whether they are cashed in on, especially with clubs interested, or do you utilise them for another year and risk losing them on a free?
