Pretty much done
Colchester's summer transfer business is "pretty much done" according to John Ward.
Clinton Morrison, Freddie Sears and Marcus Bean have arrived over the summer and with The U's retaining a number that they would have wanted little more activity is likely to take place.
Ward, as he told BBC Essex, knows that budget restrains determine this but he is also happy with his lot: 'from last January we've been telling people the budget's going to be tighter this season.
'We're pretty much done, probably a bit quicker than I thought we may be done, but I'm happy with that.'
He has a decent squad assembled at the club so why overstretch a budget when it isn't needed, there's still scope for potential loan arrivals perhaps and (if the wage bill allows) the possibility of a free agent arriving too.
