Massey signs

Gavin Massey has become a permanent arrival at Colchester, signing a three-year contract.

The striker spent time on loan with The U's last season with John Ward more than happy to bring him in permanently: 'Gavin is young enough to develop further and we saw a lot of promise last year in his play.

'He can now settle himself down and develop that promise into something more formidable.

'Things have changed a lot at Watford over the past few months and so we made an enquiry about his services and have now come up with this deal.'

19-year-old Massey wasn't likely to have a future at Watford so his departure, and arrival at the WHCS, is best for all involved with him signed on a free.
