Eight without a win for U's

Scunthorpe 1-0 Colchester
22nd Sept 2012
15:00
Glanford Park

Colchester tasted defeat once more, the defeat at Scunthorpe on Saturday confirmed that The U's have official made their worst ever start to a season!

The sides went in level at the break, but mainly because Scunthorpe keeper Sam Slocombe was able to produce a fine save to deny Gavin Massey from range.

Slocombe again denied The U's just before the hour when he instinctively kept out a Clinton Morrison header.

The visitors chance to win the game came late on when a penalty was awarded, which Leon Clarke (76) made no mistake with as he tucked this away to score his fourth goal in as many games.

That goal was enough to give The Iron a 1-0 win, and extend their unbeaten run to four whilst making it eight without a win for The U's!
