Bournemouth's unbeaten run under Eddie Howe was extended to 13 when they saw off Colchester, who continue to struggle, on Saturday afternoon.
Plenty of chances came for the home side before they finally managed to breakthrough shortly before the break through Lewis Grabban (41). Injury to Bournemouth's Shaun MacDonald, who had to be stretched off, meant a sour end to the first half for the hosts through.
Colchester struggled to create opportunities and didn't really have a clear cut one so slumped to a 1-0 defeat, which could have been worse had The Cherries taken their chances.
