U's Attack Needs Most Strengthening

The recent poll on the site has been to the question of which area requires the most strengthening this month if the U's are to avoid the drop.

The leading result is in attack, with 35% of you feeling that this is the most important area. Joe Dunne has attempted this by drafting in young Dominic Samuel from Reading on a month's loan, but this isn't the solution for me - a young player on a short-term deal only papers over the cracks, and we'll be back to square one in a few weeks' time.

In second was that of the goalkeeper, picking up 30% of the votes. Mark Cousins has been given the opportunity to make the number one spot his own this season but many feel an experienced head in the mould of Aidan Davison is needed to communicate more effectively with what is becoming an extremely young back four.

Midfield is the area least requiring additions according to you, so does this mean that the U's can afford to let Anthony Wordsworth depart this month to then strengthen those two above areas?

With that in mind, the new question is would you rather Woody were allowed to leave to reinvest the funds to survive, or would you rather keep Woody to help fend off relegation?
