Ahead of this evening's fixture at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, Yeovil boss Gary Johnson has warned his side that they mustn't underestimate the U's by merely looking at the side's position in the league table.
Like Tranmere on Saturday, the Glovers are also riding high with hopes for Championship football next season and travel to Essex off the back of a remarkable run of form - picking up twenty-five points from the last twenty-seven available.
A run of eight wins in a row was concluded on Saturday with a good point away at fellow high-fliers Doncaster, and it is that form that makes Johnson's side confident going into any game they play.
But, as he told the club's official website, they have to be cautious not to become complacent as a result of that belief.
'Of course, you get used to winning and feeling like you can go anywhere and it will carry on, you want to think you're becoming invincible,' he confessed.
'And we certainly can be confident with one loss in eleven games or eight wins in nine, but we can't be overconfident and we need to do our job.
'When you look at Colchester's statistics on Saturday you have to be really careful in thinking that you'll just turn up and walk away with three points; they had more shots than Tranmere and more possession than Tranmere which is unbelievable.
'Looking at the Colchester team they do have a decent group of lads with some good loanees from higher leagues.'
The heavy winter that we all suffered towards the end of January has left many a number of the pitches throughout the Football League in a less than ideal state, and the U's pitch is no exception.
It is certainly not supportive of the slick, passing football that Joe Dunne has tried to implement for the U's but, as Johnson continues to point out, that should help to become a leveller.
He finished: 'The pitches are rock hard at the moment unless clubs water them a lot, so it's a leveller for everyone at the moment.
'Colchester like to get down and play though, so I'm sure they'll want their pitch to be as conducive to football as they can.'
