Jabo Ready For Former Side

U's striker Jabo Ibehre is itching to get onto the pitch this weekend to face his former club MK Dons as he returns from a three-match suspension.

The powerful forward picked up the ban in the U's 0-0 draw at Hartlepool at the beginning of the month for a harsh decision on a tackle.

Despite going in one-footed and without studs up, the referee adjudged the challenge to be a red card offence, much to the bemusement of the U's management team; Hartlepool boss John Hughes also expressed his surprise at the decision.

However, following the 2-1 win at Bury last weekend, Jabo has now served his suspension and can't wait to get back playing, admitting to the Daily Gazette that the injustice of the card only added to his frustrations.

'It's felt like forever and I've felt frustrated,' he explained. 'I'd have held my hands up if I deserved the red card, but I've felt a bit hard done by.

'I'm itching to get back out there now that it's over.'

The Dons seem to have been a bit of a bogey side for the U's in recent seasons, with two 5-1 drubbings springing to mind, but with the Buckinghamshire side arriving in Essex in bad form, Joe Dunne will be hoping for another three points towards survival.
