Ibehre Set To Stay With U's?

U's striker Jabo Ibehre has admitted that Joe Dunne has been infectious on him since his switch to Essex from MK Dons and that he is hoping to stay with the club into next season.

Ibehre initially joined up with Dunne's squad from MK Dons on a three-month loan deal until the New Year but, having returned to MK Dons, the powerful front-man made the switch permanent in January.

However, that permanent deal was only until the end of the season and with the win at Carlisle drawing the curtain on another campaign, speculation instead switched to his future with the U's.

Speaking to the club's official website, Ibehre said: 'It's been brilliant and the support everyone has shown in the difficult times has kept us going.

'It's been tough at times but we've stuck together and to end it the way we did was fantastic - now hopefully we can sit down and discuss something.

'I love the manager, his passion, the way he is towards me and what he wants to do here. He really wants to work with players to get the best out of them and I'm really looking forward to the future.'
