Ladapo Heads Out On Loan

U's youngster Freddie Ladapo has headed to Conference side Woking for a three-month loan deal.

The 20-year-old striker bagged a brace in Tuesday night's friendly win over Arsenal, and his performance alerted Garry Hill to take the youngster to Woking for experience.

Ladapo has previously enjoyed loan spells with Thurrock, Chelmsford and Bishop's Stortford, and made four appearances for the U's first team off the bench last season.

Having signed a contract extension in the summer just gone, U's boss Joe Dunne admitted that although he feels the striker can still progress significantly, it was an important time for him to make the step up.

Ladapo has been on everybody's lips for a number of years now following impressive form in the U's youth team but, despite bagging plenty of goals for the U21s, has yet to really look ready for the first team just yet.

All fans will be hoping that Ladapo can return to the Weston Homes ready to challenge Clinton Morrison for a place in the first team squad and, hopefully, some goals in the Conference could provide the boost his career needs.
