Guy Pushing for First Start

Colchester United's teenage striker Jamie Guy has staked a claim for his first start, after scoring Colchester`s 2nd goal against league leaders Cardiff City at home last Saturday.

The 19 year old former Youth Team player came on to brush the experienced Darren Purse aside to score Colchester's all important 2nd goal after Cardiff had leveled things through a Michael Chopra Goal.

Colchester Manager Geraint Williams said about his young striker 'Jamie is pushing for a start,'

'It was third time lucky for him really, because this time the goal got us some points.

'He's not had many chances this season but he's already got us three goals.'

However 6ft 4in Scottish Striker Chris Iwelumo was in great form on Saturday, although not scoring he gave the Cardiff defence alot of problems, softening them up before the introduction of Guy.
